Game gets called due to darkness and ends scoreless

In the regular season finale, Northport and Ward Melville played to a 0-0 tie as dusk turned nightfall on Tuesday.
Lady Tiger GK Mariselle Camillone made four stops and Lady Pat GK Olivia Zummo made eight.
Both teams had numerous penalty corner opportunities but could not take advantage. They actually got one behind Camillone, but it was batted in by a high-stick, thus negating it.
The two teams finished tied for second at 12-1-1 in the conference and are behind Sachem East who finished a perfect 14-0. Ward Melville will play against Whitman in the first full round of the playoffs on Oct 29. as Northport awaits for the winner of Huntington/Connetquot qualifying match to also be played on Oct 29.
The game represented longtime Tiger Coach Gina Walling’s last regular season contest after 17 years as Lady Tiger head coach. She has won multiple Coach of the Year awards as well NY State Titles in 2021 and 2022.
