The Tiger football team had a tune-up scrimmage on Friday and they appear to be in need of yet another tune up. There were some key players missing from the lineup, but the first team offense was ineffective and mistake-prone for much of its time on the field.  QB Owen Johansen threw an interception on the first possession of the game and the Tiger offensive line was not winning at the line of scrimmage on running plays. There were also an inordinate amount of snap exchange issues between Johansen and C Andrew Canales.

The defense also gave up huge chunks of yardage on a few too many occasions. The Commack offense produced many positive plays although one of their touchdowns should have been flagged for offensive pass interference that everyone in attendance saw – except the officials.

There were some bright spots, including Aiden Campbell who had an interception and made a few strong tackles.  The Raio brothers, Christian and Michael, run the ball effectively and Jackson Campbell scored a touchdown on the ground.

Star running back J.J. Ahlstrand took a hard hit in the first half and did not return to the game and Jack Sandrib did not play at all as he was nursing a sore ankle.  More to come.
